Happy 'Ox' Year

Dong dong chiang~~

Wow, it's already Chinese New Year. I'm sure everyone's been busy either helping their families to prepare everything or meeting up with their relatives to collect angpau's celebrate this wondrous festive season.

Except me who's been indulging myself excessively in RO. -.- Which explains the lack of updates.

Anyway, just had a real simple reunion dinner with my family. Well it's not really a reunion since it's only the usual 5 of us. And I mean... REAL simple. My mom only prepared three simple dishes, of which one is bought from the market, and that's all we had for dinner. Even the usual dinner was wayy better than this 1. =.= Only thing is, we had to add an extra scoop or two of rice, so to speak our appetite has grown bigger as we grow older.

I would only be going back to my dad's hometown on Wednesday for a couple of days, other than that I guess I would be staying at home. Somehow the CNY mood hasn't kicked in, and it just feels like any other day, minus the repetitive dong dong chiang~ and the closed shops around town. I hope this CNY doesn't turn out to be a real bore.

We'll see... We'll see...

Let's just be excited about getting angpau's... XD

Before I end the entry, I would like to wish HH whose birthday falls exactly on the first day of CNY a Happy Birthday. Haha enjoy your holiday. :)

And for the rest of the folks,

Happy Chinese New Year
and
Gong Xi Fa Cai

Get more angpau's and have a prosperous year ahead. :)

I No No Engrish... T.T

Finally our MUET results is out...

It's quite a night. Some of us stayed up late to check our results (Ignore the fact that we ALWAYS stay up late :P). But I wasn't anticipating to find out my result cause I really don't want to ruin my holiday in case anything had gone wrong. Mentah-mentah my holiday would last for another 2 months or so. =.='

Then again, everyone had their results and I couldn't stand the what-if that's been going on and on and on... So I checked through SMS and I suddenly got so nervous that I trembled. =.='' I got a reply very soon...

So I pray and pray and pray before I read the message...

You do not have sufficient credit to perform this transaction. Please reload your prepaid credit.

=____='' So much for the anticipation...

So I checked again using my dad's phone and knew I got...

...Band 5.

Sigh... It wasn't what I've hoped for. But I thought I must have at least gotten an average Band 5, if not a strong Band 5. So I'm OK with it. But the next day all hopes were shattered when I got my result slip. =.=''

A minimum aggregated points of 220 must be obtained to get Band 5, 260 to get Band 6. And I got...

221

WTF??

Embarrassed... Defeated... Humiliated... Disappointed... Failed...

Apparently I ran out of vocabs already. That explains the marks...

Good thing is, whenever people ask what I got, I only have to use one hand to show them instead of using both. Save the hassle.

Bad thing is, it's a very very very weak Band 5 la.
Nobody got Band 6 in my school so I'm still considered one of the best la, although I probably must have scored the lowest among the Band 5's.

Shouldn't have expected too much I guess, after screwed up 3/4 of my paper. I've screwed up writing, reading, and speaking altogether, despite using the language in a daily basis. How ironic... =.=

It's over already and maybe I shouldn't think too much of it. But it's harder to do than saying. Sigh...

Anyway congratulations to the others who had achieved what they had wanted. :)

Indecisive

You know you're in deep shit when you still haven't decided what course and university you wanna further your studies in even after you've completed STPM.

And even worse for indecisive people like me who takes forever just to decide which set lunch to order in McD. =.=''

Unfortunately, I've already limited my choices out of an array of career paths by not taking Biology in STPM. And I've been vacillating between engineering and maths related courses so it's not that difficult to choose between these two right? Just gotta get some info and that's it. Financial problem aside, I still have to consider the chances of getting into my choice of university, accommodation, transportation, and etc etc etc...

Sigh...

And so in an attempt to set things right, I turned to the annual education fair in KLCC, hopefully it could shed some lights and guide me into choosing the right path.

Did alot of brochures grabbing, filling up forms, information gathering, asking questions, listening to others, grabbing freebies, browsing around, and etc etc etc... Sadly it was kinda disappointing cause in the end I've realized my problem is that I'm VERY indecisive. =.=''

And wtf? I've found out that I'm still eligible to take up certain Biology related courses like dentistry and pharmacy as long as I'm taking Chemistry. So now I have to reconsider my choices, AGAIN for the 234365764th time. At this rate, I may continue vacillating until the day I apply for enrollment and scholarships.

-_______-''

Oh my... I'm doom SOOO doom this time. T.T

Penang Trip Day 3 *overdue post*

Today is the last day of our trip. Everyone's looking exhausted and sleepy...

The girls

CC and Rob

...but we woke up because of this...

Urghh... the noise...

...some group of people were having a party by the beach early in the morning. =.=''

So we prepared ourselves for breakfast.

Yeng... XD

Probably because of taking too much food and the hygiene was quite questionable, I had diarrhea. Sigh... After going into toilet several times, everyone was so sleepy that they continued sleeping. So I went to sleep as well. =.=

Kent and CC

Rob

HH and Kent

And as if the diarrhea wasn't bad enough, I woke up with a fever and slight dizziness. =.='' Great... falling sick on a vacation is the last thing I hoped for. We took some photos in the motel before packing and checking out.

Rob acting cool

Me feeling ill, yet forcing a smile

Kent being mischievous

CK posing

HH sitting selamba

So after all that, we headed to town and had lunch at the restaurant we went yesterday. I was feeling quite ill and couldn't eat the char kuey teow I wanted to. Instead I opted for the duck kuey teow soup. It was just mediocre. Quite disappointing but I finished it anyway since I had to take some medication later on.

We headed to a shopping mall nearby to shop for souvenirs. I didn't have the mood to walk around as I was feeling dizzy. So some of us took care of our bags while the rest walked around.

After that we headed to the jetty by bus and bid Penang farewell. We took the same bus that broke down on the first day. Luckily it didn't break down today or else they would have to deal with 7 dulan-ed students-turned-gangsters. :P

We reached KL by 8-ish pm. The girls alighted from the bus at earlier stations. We went home separately and luckily I felt a lot better in the bus after taking some medications. :)

So that's the end of our trip to Penang. It was a very pleasant trip even though there were some problems along the way but hey, it's probably the problems that made this trip so enjoyable. :P I'll definitely look forward to the next trip with you guys. :)

Penang Trip Day 2 *overdue post*

It's been a pleasant night. Had a very good night sleep, surrounded by the sound of waves and insects, as serene as a mother's lullaby, granting all of us a very 'conducive' atmosphere into slumbers.

Well... except the fact that the blanket piece of cloth we covered ourselves in which is so thin that even a bimbo's makeup is thicker than it, did anything but keep us warm. And the guys just had to turn on the air-con with full blast. (Yeah la I know we don't have to pay for the electricity but please have mercy to this fragile frame of mine the environment.)

Oh well... I can tolerate with shivering myself to sleep. No big deal. I'm just too tired already, even shivering takes alot of effort. All I want is as much sleep as possible.

And so I continued indulging myself in dreamland, until...

Blardy hell... =.=

They just had to wake us up in the most unconventional method. As for where they had so much energy from, I have no idea. =.=

The castle CC and Hannah built when we were still VERY MUCH asleep (Not for long =.=)

Bugs stacking on top of each other

Sleepy and tulan =.=

They even had the mood and energy to search for burrowed crabs in the sands =.=

We got ourselves 5 free sets of breakfast so all of us except Ken and HH went for breakfast at the cafeteria. The two of them had their breakfast somewhere else. It was just two slices of toast and an egg. If it wasn't for free we wouldn't eat there. :P

We prepared ourselves and went out for a tour around the town by bus. Well we had to buy some biscuits/cookies/whatever-you-call-it for our family/friends. But since it's still early, we decided to eat again and walk around before picking up the biscuits/cookies/whatever-you-call-it on our way back to the motel later cause it's troublesome to carry them around.

While waiting for the bus

We walked around under the blazing sun and in the end, we dropped by a mall that looks like Times Square but it's still under construction. From that mall, we walked to another mall. But it has nothing much to see so we walked to another mall which looked like Sungei Wang. So we did mall-hopping. =.='' Actually we were looking for a cybercafe to satisfy our 'hunger' for CS. :P But to no avail. Sigh...

A shoe twice the size of its counterparts... The chosen one...

From the second mall, wondering where's the third mall. =.=

HH the supermodel not :P

Walked until very tired so camped in a CD store while deciding where to go

After all that, HH the tour guide brought us to a restaurant famous for its food and cendol. And damnn the good good food was sooo good that I kept typing food as good. XD

Lame... OK got it.

That's the stall...

Just look at the crowd OMG...

We couldn't wait for the rest so we ordered first. :P

Upon entering the sardine-packed restaurant, we saw Poh Lian and her friends. Coincidentally, she was having a vacation with her friends as well. Small world it is.

Didn't get to take a decent photo of her. That's her in the white shirt.

This is already half of the restaurant but only a small group of people. You can imagine how packed it is. =.=

HH helped us ordered the food cause we can't speak Hokkien (Is it Hokkien?), and can only understand a little. =.=' We can speak Mandarin but we were told that they would know we're not Penangite and would charge us more. Blood suckers. =.=''

Haha she even served us the food XD

All we can do is wait and take photos :P

And they too take photos

Wait so long... Wait till sien =.=

And finally the food came. Still having a food orgasm from the cendol just now, I had another 1 when I took the first sip of my asam laksa. Never knew asam laksa could be this good! OMG I was in heaven...!!!

We showed no mercy to the food...!!!

Succumb to THE cendol...!!

Tak sabar-sabar nak makan XD

Look at the size of the prawn. So succulent... I'm drooling already

Lobak as well

Even after all these, I still haven't had enough and so I ordered another cendol. :P

Group photo

Then we walked to take our biscuits/cookies/whatever-you-call-it and decided to head back to motel. We waited at the wrong bus stop and I was blamed for that. =.= So anyway, while we walked to the right one, FINALLY our call has been answered and we found a cybercafe just in front of the bus stop. XD Spent an hour there and RM 2 there.

Waiting at the wrong bus stop and Hannah's in glee for unknown reason

We reached the motel and headed straight to the beach. This time they decided to take a swim. Well initially I didn't want to get into water cause it was cold and windy, in the end I joined them anyway cause it's bored sitting alone safeguarding their belongings. =.= Again, first time jumping into the sea after so many years, and tasted the salt water, it was quite an experience... XD

The guys acting weird

Obscene =.=

...and ended up having alot of sands in my pocket and all that. =.=

After taking showers, the initial plan was to go to Gurney Plaza. But HH wanted to attend her cousin's birthday party so we changed our plan and had dinner instead in her cousin's house. And we even planned to go to a pasar malam but we headed back to our motel for fear we might miss the last bus.

We were all tired already. Hannah and CC slept quite early while the rest of us went to the food court again for supper after enjoying the mesmerizing night view by the beach. The char kuey teow was really nice. Too bad I couldn't eat already or else I would've ordered another plate. :P

So that's it for Day 2. Everyone seemed to be worn out physically, but definitely we enjoyed this trip and asked for more. XD

Penang Trip Day 1 *overdue post*

It's been a trip that we have been looking forward to, partly due to the fact that this is the first time I've been to Penang. Yes we adhere to the rule never go on a trip without planning. And so we've been talking about and planning for this trip wayyy earlier, even before STPM started. :P

So the 8 (Zhi Wang turned us down at the very last minute. We even bought his bus ticket =.=) 7 of us gathered at the bus station that day. I had to hand over my notes to Sin Yee, and since Chean's meeting up with her, I'd asked her a favor. OK make it 2. So I passed her my notes, and since she's going to school, might as well as her to fetch me as well. :P

Surprisingly I'm the last one to reach there. So we met up and boarded the bus. Chee Kar has two seats to himself because Zhi Wang ffk-ed. The journey was rather tedious. Everyone got some sleep in the bus, albeit the seats were rather uncomfortable for sleeping.

The bus broke down after several hours on the road. So we had to either switch to another bus or wait for a couple of hours to get the bus repaired. We chose the former since we're behind our schedule even though the bus wasn't heading to where we wanted to.

HH's calling her relatives for direction. Stupid bus =.=

After an hour, we had to switch to another bus to get to the jetty. So at the transition station, I did an experiment, ala Mythbusters...

Situation : A rather unfortunate lad had stepped on bubblegum, dragged it for quite a distance before realizing it's already sticking on his jeans.

Myth : Ice cubes could remove the gum easily. (Ya know, the same ol' trick that they play over and over again on education channel where they make this little kid thinks he's the future Einstein after removing the bubblegum off his shoes using ice cubes)

Verdict : TOTALLY BUSTED

It doesn't really help much. Instead of removing it, it actually smudged the jeans even worse. =.=' Education channel kononnya. Pfft...

So we paid for the bus ticket another time even though obviously it's the company's fault that the bus broke down, and boarded the bus.

As tulan as the situation may get, must pose for the camera :P

So we reached the jetty after half an hour. This is the first time I've taken a ferry, so I was kinda in awe and all that. Sigh... =.=

Ohh look... Ferries...!!! *jakun*

Ohh look...!!! Small fishing boats...!!! (Apparently the others are ignoring me)

No one's sharing the same excitement as I do. And so I pretend to be emo :P

Hannah and CC with Penang as the background

Kent, HH, Hannah and me

The 7 of us obstructing the ladder to the passenger seats

We got down the ferry and took RapidPenang to the hotel. Frankly, it was nothing much different than RapidKL. In fact they don't sell daily pass as RapidKL does. So much for the publicity. =.=''

The same yellow handle and blue seats...

After going around town, we'd finally reached the hotel. Well that's at least what I thought we would be staying in, until HH brought us to a motel next to the hotel. LOL. No complaints though. In fact the motel probably provides better accessibility to the beach than the hotel since our rooms are just steps away from the beach. XD

While they pay the bills and checking in...

...dono-who took my photo

After chucking our bags into our rooms, we headed to the food court just in front of the motel to grab something to eat since we'd totally missed our lunch due to the earlier predicaments. It was still too early for all the stalls to open, so we just had what's available. Not much choice, but I had to sacrifice my virgin gastronomical adventure in Penang in this food court that doesn't impress me much cause we're all starving already. Fortunately the food doesn't disappoint me. In fact it was quite good. Haha.

Satisfied, we headed to the beach straight away for a walk. And this is also the first time I've set foot on a beach after many many years when I was 1/4 of my current height which I can't recall. Come to think of it, I'm kinda like a classic example of katak di bawak tempurung. =.=

WWE - Water Wrestling is Entertaining :P

We all watch them kick sand to each other till the sun comes home

Self-timer rocks

Walking in the water is way better than walking on the sand :)

CC has to hold the camera, and so we did the HSM jump shot without him :P

The sun came home, and so did we.

We went back to our rooms and showered. We one-two-jus-ed to decide our turn to shower cause we're that childish to be fair. :P

Chor-tai-dee-ing while waiting for our turns

After everyone's finished bathing, we went for supper at the food court. This time all the stalls had opened and we ordered quite alot of dishes.

Everyone's full yet still feels like ordering more XD

Full and satisfied

After the hearty meal, HH suggested to walk to the nearest mall since we're not prepared to call it a day yet. Well I'm not quite sure what's her definition of 'NEAR' but the mall is nowhere near our motel. We walked for a total of 15, or maybe 20 minutes yet the mall is nowhere to be seen. By the time we saw it, it's probably closed so we turned and walked back to the motel. So much for nothing. But anyway, there isn't anything we could do at that hour so it's kinda good also to get some walk. Everyone's enjoying the walk I think as nobody's complaining about it.

Took this photo of the motel we're staying in during the stay. The shadow makes it looked like it's haunted or something

Upon returning to our rooms, that's when all hells break loose when the girls suggested to play 'Truth or Dare'. And we did pillow-talk kinda thingy session. We got to know quite alot of dirty little secrets from a few of us. Haha. Well those secrets are best kept within the few of us. :P

We slept at 3am. By then most of us were already too tired to do anything already. Haha.

This is only the first day of our trip and we already had so much fun even though we spent half of the day travelling on bus. :)
